My name is Tahric Finn. Today, I want to share some simple but important English greetings and conversation starters you can use when you meet someone new. What\u2019s yours?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cHi, what\u2019s your name?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After you learn their name, you can say:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cNice to meet you!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhere are you from?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Asking about where someone is from can mean their city, neighborhood, or country. Where I live, I meet lots of people from different countries, so it\u2019s a great way to start a conversation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"casual-questions-to-break-the-ice\">Casual Questions to Break the Ice<\/h2>\n<p>Here are some casual questions people often use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>\u201cHow\u2019s it going?\u201d<br \/>This is a little less formal than \u201cHow are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good answers are: \u201cIt\u2019s going pretty good,\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s going well,\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s going fine,\u201d or \u201cIt\u2019s going great.\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tip:<\/strong> If you don\u2019t know the person well, it\u2019s better not to share very personal problems at this stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u201cWhat brings you here today?\u201d<br \/>This is a friendlier way of asking \u201cWhy are you here?\u201d It\u2019s polite and makes the conversation smoother.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>If someone introduces you through a friend, you can ask:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cHow do you know Sam?\u201d<br \/>This question opens up more stories and possible topics for conversation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"keeping-the-conversation-going\">\u12cd\u12ed\u12ed\u1271\u1295 \u1218\u1240\u1320\u120d<\/h2>\n<p>Sometimes, the conversation might slow down. Comedy is my favorite genre!\u201d)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u201cDo you follow any sports?\u201d<br \/>If you both like the same sport, you can talk about your favorite teams.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of music do you like?\u201d<br \/>If you both like the same music, you can talk about your favorite artists or songs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Talking about the weather<\/strong> is always good, especially in places with changing weather:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWhat do you think of this weather?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s so hot today!\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIn my hometown, it can be even colder!\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"showing-interest-and-asking-for-more\">Showing Interest and Asking for More<\/h2>\n<p>To show you care about what someone is saying, you can ask:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cReally? Tell me more about that.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWow, how long have you been doing that?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhat made you interested in it?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You might also say:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThat sounds fun!
