Taiwan has indigenous peoples. These are people who lived in Taiwan first. They were here thousands of years before other people came. Today, there are 16 main groups.

Each group has its own language and culture. They have traditional clothing with beautiful colors. Many have special patterns and designs. The clothing is worn during festivals.

Indigenous peoples have amazing music and dance. They sing songs and tell stories. The dances are very energetic. People hold hands and move in circles. It looks like a lot of fun!

Many indigenous peoples live in the mountains. They are great hunters and farmers. They know a lot about nature and plants. Some groups also live near the ocean and catch fish.
