Many people use social media every day. Social media apps let people talk to friends and share their lives online. You can use a phone or a computer. Popular apps include Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. People of all ages enjoy these apps.
First, you make a profile. A profile is a page with your name, your photo, and some information about you. You can add a nice photo of yourself or your favorite pet. This helps your friends know it is really you.
Next, you can make a post. A post is something you put online for other people to see. You can write words, or you can add a photo. Some people also add a hashtag to their post. A hashtag is a word with a # sign in front of it. It helps other people find your post.
When your friends see your post, they can like it. They click a small heart button to show they enjoy it. Friends can also write a comment under your post. A comment is a short message about your post.
Finally, you can talk to one friend with a private message. Be careful online. Only add people you know as friends, and never share your address or phone number with strangers.
