They were here before the dinosaurs! There are over 500 different <strong>species<\/strong> of sharks. Some are big, and some are very small.<\/p>\n<p>The great white shark is the most <strong>famous<\/strong> shark. It can grow up to 6 meters long! The whale shark is the biggest fish in the world. They can smell blood from far away. They can feel movement in the water with special <strong>organs<\/strong> on their body. Sharks also have many rows of sharp teeth.<\/p>\n<p>Many people are <strong>afraid<\/strong> of sharks, but shark attacks are very rare. Sharks do not want to eat humans. More people are killed by cows than by sharks! Sharks are <strong>important<\/strong> for the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, many sharks are in <strong>danger<\/strong>. People catch too many sharks every year. We need to <strong>protect<\/strong> sharks because they keep the ocean healthy.
