It was in Africa, along the Nile River. The Egyptians built amazing things that we can still see today. They lived over 4,000 years ago!<\/p>\n<p>The most famous buildings are the <strong>pyramids<\/strong>. The pyramids were tombs for the <strong>pharaohs<\/strong>, who were the kings of Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the biggest. When a pharaoh died, they wrapped the body in cloth. They put the mummy in the pyramid with gold and <strong>treasures<\/strong>. They believed the pharaoh would need these things in the afterlife.<\/p>\n<p>The Egyptians invented many things. They created a <strong>calendar<\/strong> with 365 days. They wrote using pictures called <strong>hieroglyphics<\/strong>. They also built huge statues called the Sphinx.<\/p>\n<p>Scientists called <strong>archaeologists<\/strong> study ancient Egypt. They dig up old tombs and find amazing things. We still learn new facts about Egypt today.
