The Moon Festival is a special holiday in Taiwan. It happens in September or October. On this night, the moon is full and very ljus. Families get tillsammans to look at the moon.

People eat special cakes called mooncakes. Mooncakes are runda like the moon. Inside, they have sweet filling like red bean or egg yolk. The outside has pretty mönster on it.

There is a legend about a lady on the moon. Her name is Chang’e. She flew to the moon long ago. People say they can see her when they look at the full moon.

In Taiwan, many families have barbecues. They cook meat and vegetables outside. Everyone sits together, eats good food, and talks. It is a very cozy time.

Children also play with lanterns during the Moon Festival. Some lanterns have lights inside. Others have candles. The festival is about family, good food, and the beautiful moon!
